Cheese Burger Recipe

Directions

  1. Toss cabbage, red onion, carrot and Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise mixed with lime juice in large bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. Combine ground beef, egg, garlic and black pepper in another large bowl; shape into 4 patties.
  3. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties* until desired doneness, about 8 minutes. Top with cheese and cook until cheese is melted. Serve in buns with lettuce, tomato and coleslaw.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (250 mL) shredded red and/or green cabbage
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Hellmann's® Real Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Tbsp. (7 mL) lime juice
  • 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) vegetable oil
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese [or American cheese]
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
