Hot Dog and Potato Dinner

Directions

  1. Stir together potatoes, sauce mix, hot water and milk in large skillet; stir in frozen peas until separated.
  2. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
  3. Stir in hot dogs; cover and heat 3 to 4 minutes or just until hot dogs are hot. Sprinkle cheese over mixture. Cover; let stand about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Tips:

For fewer calories and less fat, use fat-free(skim milk), reduced-fat hot dogs and reduced-fat Cheddar cheese.

Cooked or smoked sausages, such as kielbasa or ring bologna, can be used instead of hot dogs. Simply measure out 2 cups of sausage cut into 3/4-inch slices.

  • 1 Box Betty Crocker* Au Gratin Scalloped Potatoes
  • 2 1/3 cups (575 mL) hot water
  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Green Giant* Frozen Sweetlets* Peas or SummerSweet Peas
  • 6 hot dogs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) shredded Cheddar cheese
